In addition to my work at Epworth I teach music at Gardner-Webb University and perform as a bass trombonist around the region. I have toured throughout the US as a bass trombone soloist and am an artist/clinician for Conn-Selmer Corporation. I have also performed extensively with NC and Charlotte Symphonies. In addition to my career in music I own a web and print design company called Urban Cattle Design Co. My wife Maegan (in the choir!) is a first grade teacher in Cabarrus County Schools. Together we live with our herd of animals outside of Kannapolis.

I am from the GREAT state of Ohio, born in Marion, Ohio. During high school I was the accompanist for all choirs, ensembles and the orchestra. I also had my own piano studio on a music store for 4 years during my high school days. I received two 4 year scholarships, one to St. Louis Institute of Music and also Oberlin Conservatory of Music where I attended for 1 year. I felt God was leading me into nursing rather than music so I attended Lima Memorial School of Nursing in Ohio and nursed a year until our first child was born. Later I nursed part time and began my own piano studio in Concord. I met my husband Ike while at Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and were married soon after. We have 4 children and 10 grandchildren and I love them all. Presently I am still organist at Epworth but soon will retire but will work with the handbells as long as my health allows.
